Today is Election Day
|
The election is unusual as far as school elections go because of the large amount of candidates.
Eleven people are running: Seven candidates are running in the Madison School District for three school trustee zones, in Fremont School District two candidates are running for Zone 4, and two candidates are running in Zone 5 of the Sugar-Salem School District.
Residents have already had the opportunity to cast absentee ballots, which are no longer accepted.
Only residents who live within the specific school zone are eligible to vote in the election. Voters must also be at least 18 years of age, be citizens of the United Stations and must register to vote.
Residents may register at any of the polling locations prior to voting.
For more information about the candidates, refer to the election coverage in the Standard Journal on May 13 and May 16.
